As the first author and corresponding author, Professor Wen Shi from the Department of Management Science and Information Management of our school collaborated with Professor Xi Chen of Virginia Tech University and Professor Jennifer Shang of the University of Pittsburgh on the research results "An efficient Morris method-based framework for simulation factor screening", which has been published in the top UT-Dallas 24 journal INFORMS Journal on Computing in the field of international management.
The Morris method is an important theory used in the field of computational experiments to solve the "Curse of dimensionality" problem. Since it was proposed in 1991, it has been widely used in the field of management engineering practice and complex system engineering. Based on the improved theories of bootstrap hypothesis testing and false discovery rate, this paper solves the problem of statistical error control in the Morris method and extends this problem to the field of random simulation experiments for the first time. The opinion of an authoritative expert of the review team is that "one of the reviewer, who has strong experience in reviewing papers on Morris method, even believes that it is one of the more thoughtful, and certainly more thorough papers on the topic".
UT-Dallas 24 is a catalog of 24 top journals in the management discipline defined by the University of Texas at Dallas. It covers fields of operations management, information system management, finance, marketing, accounting and strategic management. It is an important reference basis for business school scientific research around the world and is highly recognized internationally. At the same time, the catalog is also an important reference for the selection of important talent programs in the fields of management science of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Ministry of Education. The journal of INFORMS Journal on Computing was founded in 1989. It is a quarterly journal of the American Association for Operations Research and Management Research (INFORMS). It is biased towards data analysis, algorithm design, optimization and simulation. Only about 40 academic papers are accepted each year.
This paper marks the first time that the business school has made a breakthrough in a top international journal as the first author/corresponding author. It is a landmark achievement in the school’s "double first-class" construction. It is also a series of talent measures formulated and implemented by our school to encourage and fund young faculty to carry out new exploration and research at the frontiers of disciplines. It is also an important manifestation of a series of important measures to encourage faculty and students of the school to continuously improve the level of teaching and scientific research.
