In his speech, Prof. Wang pointed out that Changsha is located in the central part of the city with good transportation conditions, low housing prices, high per capita disposable income, and a strong local consumer culture, which are unique conditions for the development of new consumption. Changsha is currently a nationally renowned city, and it is not just a random or occasional occurrence, it is strongly supported by the new consumer industry and head enterprises. Changsha’s new consumer industry is rapidly evolving and has been integrated with industrialization, agriculturalization and informatization, marking the basic conditions for large-scale expansion and branding. If properly guided, it is very likely that world-class new consumer enterprises and industrial clusters will emerge for Changsha’s long-term prosperity. Prof. Wang further proposed that it is important to seize the opportunity to expand the local first-mover advantage; thicken the local capacity to establish the long system of industrial ecological chain; build the headquarters base to create the local industrial ecological advantage; establish the industrial alliance to gather the industrial development elements; build the service system to promote the quality and upgrade of new consumer brands and promote the integration of new consumption with new manufacturing and new agriculture.
Promoting the transformation of dynamic energy and developing emerging industries are the inherent requirements of implementing the Three Highlands and Four Missions strategy of Hunan and accelerating the construction of a new modernized Changsha, as well as the practical need to consolidate and enhance the development advantages and maintain the good development trend. The research team of the strategy led by Prof. Wang actively serves the development of Changsha’s emerging industries and contributes its wisdom to help Changsha’s high-quality development and modernization.
