摘      要：

This paper finds the 2014 Stock Connect program and the 2018 Trade War between China and the U.S. exacerbate regulatory policy uncertainty, amplify positive gaps in price and trading volume of dual-listed A-H stocks in Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges, and dampen the associated relative price volatility. These results are consistent with the hypothesis that the two natural policy experiments tend to compound interactions between policy uncertainty and conflicts of interest be-tween inside investors in Mainland China who embrace government-accelerated economic devel-opment, socialistic markets, national pride, and outsiders from Hong Kong and foreign countries who cherish democratic socioeconomic policies.
