At 7 p.m, on November29, The final of Workplace Elite Challenge---“Go for Your Job” hosted by Graduate Student Affairs Office of CSU, and undertaken by Business School was held in Administration Building 409 of Business School. Yong YAO, the Vice-minister of Graduate Student Affairs Office of CSU, Ping ZHANG, the General Manager of Changsha Heshuo Medical Equipment Co. Ltd, Yong HUANG, the Account Manager of Hunan Branch of China Development Bank, Kun LUO, the General Manager of Changsha Lang Hui IT Co. Ltd, Guangxu QI, the HR of China United Property Insurance Company, and Yingzhi LI, the Counselor of Graduate Student Affairs Office of Business School have attend this challenge, serving as judges. This event is held by Jiahao SHEN, the Chairman of Graduate Student Association.
Beginning with the resume collection on November 10, this challenge has lasted for half month, including preliminaries, semi-finals and finals. Finally ten students from School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Resources and Safety Engineering, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Business School came to the finals. Other students organized some teams by themselves and cheered their favorite competitors on. There were no empty seats in Administration Builing409, and the atmosphere was very warm.
The first step was “Profession Outlook”, which required competitors to give three minutes’ personal show by ordinal. Audiences warmly applauded for Xiang HONG’s humorous self-introduction, Haopeng MA’s special video, Jinglin GUO’s concise and fine PPT and Weifeng WAN’s English self-introduction. The second step was “Show Power in Job Market”. All the competitors chose one of ten questions at random, and then gave the answer immediately. This step mainly aimed to test competitors’ in-game adjustments ability. Jin LI chose a question of “how to formulate marketing plan for an excavator”. His humorous answer made the building filled with laughter.
In the following step of “competition in Job Market”, all the judges asked some questions according the competitors’ resume. Judges asked every competitor carefully. Yong YAO, the vice -minister of Graduate Student Affairs Office of CSU asked Renze HU, who has experience of editing the web page and making magazine, “if somebody ask you to operate a website of student activity field, what you should do?”, and then he made a comment on Hu’s answer in details.
After two hours competition, Jin LI from Business School took the crown, Jinglin HUANG and Ruirong HUANG got the Second Prize, Min HUANG, Haopeng MA, and Yuxuan HUANG got the Third Prize, other competitors got the Winning Prize. By recovering the real job fair, this activity aims at providing a good platform for students and improving postgraduates’ employment ability.
