In view of the outstanding contribution of the Metal Resources Strategy Institute of Central South University(CSU) in solving the major national needs such as national metal resources security and ecological security and serving the regional metal industry and non-ferrous metal enterprises as well as scientific research talents cultivation, after years of inspection by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China and the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association, the Metal Resources Strategy Institute of CSU was awarded the title of National Advanced Group of Non-ferrous Metals Industry in December 2020.

The Metal Resources Strategy Institute of CSU is an interdisciplinary open research platform, relying on the disciplines of Management Science and Engineering, Business Administration and Applied Economics in the Business School, and cooperating closely with the University’s advantageous disciplines such as geology, mining, mineral processing, metallurgy, materials, information and mathematics. The Institute focuses on the research of major strategic issues of national metal resources, and is committed to becoming a highland of ideas for national metal resource strategic research, a national think tank for metal resource industry policy decision, a center for metal resource strategic information and a training base for interdisciplinary talents in the metal field.
